Why?

As you may or may not have gathered, I intend to go to Tanzania this summer. I am going along with nine other students, all very keen about development, in order to build three rainwater harvesting systems for villages in the Tabora region.

We will be spending 6-8 weeks there, building a system each for three villages, using the church roof to collect the water. This hopes to provide a reliable water supply for around 1200 people. There will also be training avaible to the locals so that they can maintain the systems without needing someone else to come in and fix it for them. We also hope that the concept catches on in neighbouring villages as a result of the project we are running this summer.

What Is The Money For?

So far the team have been able to raise the £10,000 needed for project construction. Currently we need another £15,000 for the whole team to get there. It costs £1,500 per person, this includes flights, travel, accomodation, immunisation. Each member is responsible for raising as close to the £1,500 as they can. The total amount raised will be then split between us.

I need to raise at least £1,500. This is where you can help.

I'm really counting on your support on this. This project is really important to me, as it will be my very first project abroad, and the whole team and I would like to make a positive impact on the community. We've had quite a time trying to raise as much as we have, and we now need one more push to get us there!

Since 8th April, the total amount raised comes to:
